People make Places what they are. I mean that in a negative way as well as a positive one - People can ruin Places by just being present. Empty places are purer, judged on their own merit, and a lone photographer seeing a gentle quiet aspect of the world, in a certain light, which nobody else is at that moment seeing can be a wondrous thing. When people come into places, they trap them with rules and structures and laws, constrain the meaning of a place for as long as they exist in it. But eventually they leave, and only the Place remains ...places and environments and worlds will always outlive humans. (However, it is not always the case that People are a polluting force on the Places they visit. Sometimes, an area is made more enjoyable by the presence of a group of optimistic, happy people :D These moments are fleeting though, and we must always try to find joy in the world minus its inhabitants!)
